Welcome to 3D Printing!

Amanda Shepp and Christopher Shepp

Welcome to the Re3D Guide to 3D Printing! If you’re anything like me when I started working with 3D printers, you have an idea of how it works and can appreciate its ability to create fun trinkets and doodads, but that’s about where the knowledge ends. Our hope with this guide is to get readers more comfortable with 3D printing terminology and going through the end user printing process, whether you’re curious about submitting a request to Re3D, want to explore some of the creative options in our makerspace, are learning to use a 3D printer at home, or even training for your first shift at Re3D.

3D printing is a unique process that allows users to share and create unique designs, and it’s an easy hobby to fall into. Working at Re3D has grown both of our appreciations for this fun hobby, and has allowed us to keep up with trends, humor, and other strange phenomena that the Internet brings us (who would have expected The Rock’s face to be on everything?). Even more so,  it’s great to be a part of the maker culture, and to see what amazing things people want to create. We hope this guide helps start you on a fabulous journey into making more of what you’d like to see in the world!

Yours in Plastic,

Mandi & Chris
